A second chance – Reggie Jackson’s Clippers story

Reggie Jackson was in a challenging situation at a crucial juncture in his career. His former team, the Pistons, decided to waive him at the trade deadline in 2020. The 34-year-old contemplated retiring but had Paul George and the Clippers to his rescue.

Jackson signed a one-year contract with the Clippers, looking for a fresh start. Playing as the second unit, the 6-foot-2 guard was a significant boost on offense, possessing a high-scoring ability. The Pistons veteran was a three-level scorer with clutch and impressive playmaking abilities.

Come 2021, Jackson would reap dividends for the LAC, who would clinch their first WCF. His contributions alongside PG and Terance Mann couldn’t be ignored, especially since Kawhi Leonard sat out due to an ACL tear. Promoted to the starting lineup during the playoffs, Reggie averaged 17.8 PPG on 40% shooting from beyond the arc.
