FLORIDA’S ALLIGATOR HARVEST PROGRAM, established in 1988, has become a benchmark for sustainable wildlife management, both nationally and internationally. The program creates designated alligator management units with specific harvest quotas to balance recreational opportunities with conservation efforts. Each year, Floridians and non-residents aged 18 and older can apply for permits to harvest up to two alligators.
