LEAF RIVER, Ill. (WTVO) — A 12-year-old is recovering after being hit by an SUV over the weekend.
On Saturday, around 6:47 p.m., Ogle County Sheriff’s deputies were called to the intersection of Third Street and Blaine Street in Leaf River.
Authorities said the driver of a northbound Chevrolet Traverse hit the juvenile as they were crossing Third Street.
The victim suffered non-life threatening injuries and was taken to a local hospital.
No charges have been announced, but police say the incident is under investigation.
