Volleyball Recap: Bronson takes Silver Bracket title; Quincy falls to Olivet

BATTLE CREEK – The Bronson Viking volleyball team finished Saturday’s trip to Lakeview High School at 3-2-1 overall with a championship win in the Silver Division Bracket.

“It was not a pretty day, we played many different lineups working to find the one that will be the best as we moved forward in the season,” Bronson coach Jean LaClair said. “The nice thing about this team, is there are a lot of kids who can help the team out, as we saw on Saturday.”

Leading the way for Bronson at the net was Payton “Springstead” Smith with 51 kills, 36 digs, eight blocks, and four aces.

Also putting up a big day at the net was Aubree Calloway who notched 46 kills on just 86 swings to go with eight digs and a team high 12 blocks.

Adding to the Bronson victory was Braylynn Dow with three kills, three assists, seven digs, and one block; Ciara Blankenship with three kills and four digs; Miriam Sanchez with one dig and 15 blocks; Jaiden Hayes with five aces and 23 digs; Roni Bir with two aces and three digs; Itzel Albarran with 20 digs, eight assists, and two aces; Hadley Wagaman with eight aces and 17 digs; and Hermosa Gonzalez with one kill, three aces, 11 digs and two blocks.
