CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) – Multiple counties in the Charlotte area were under a flood watch on Monday due to excessive rainfall expected over the next few days. The National Weather Service issued a flood watch for Anson, Cabarrus, Gaston, Mecklenburg, Richmond, Stanly, and Union counties in North Carolina on Monday, Sept. 16. The flood watch was also active for Lancaster and York counties in South Carolina.
