The Seven Gates of Hell legend in Virginia is filled with inconsistancies

No one can agree not even on the location

The Seven Gates of Hell is allegedly located in one of two adjoining Virginia counties: Bedford or Franklin. Supposedly, off Route 666 (there happens to be one in each county), seven black gates lead to a property on a hill.

Legend claims that a family in the home went mad and murdered all of their African American slaves. Once you get to the fifth gate, electronics are said to shut down, and vehicles turn off. There is also supposed to be a farmer waiting with a shotgun.

On Tumblr, someone said the gates were red and the location was in Catawba near Smith Mountain Lake. These two Virginia locales are nowhere near each other. The misinformation and inconsistencies with the address suggest The Seven Gates of Hell is more of an urban legend than a tale of the supernatural.
