Suspect Arrested in Marietta Murder

An Atlanta man was arrested Saturday morning and charged with murdering a Marietta man in a Friday night shooting, Marietta police report.

Tavion Taylor, 21, has been charged with felony murder, aggravated assault and possession of a firearm in the commission of a crime. He was booked into the Cobb County Adult Detention Center, where he is being held without bond.

At approximately 10:15 p.m. Friday night, Marietta police officers were dispatched to reports of a person shot outside an apartment building at 2605 Bentley Road, Marietta, near Interstate 75, police said. Officers from the Cobb County Police Department also responded to the call.

When first responders arrived, they found De’shaune Hall, 21, of Marietta, lying on the ground with multiple gunshot wounds. According to Marietta police, officers and medical first responders attempted to render aid, but Hall succumbed to his wounds.

Detectives were called to the scene as officers began collecting evidence. Marietta officers and detectives identified Taylor as a suspect thanks to witness statements, police said.
