(Marion, IA) — A Cedar Rapids man is facing charges in an August crash in Marion, that resulted in serious injuries. Police say on August 20th, 38-year-old Rickey Brooks was traveling his Dodge Challenger 116 miles per hour in a 55 mile per hour zone on Highway 100. Police say a minivan, driven by 77 year old Walker Kelley of Marion attempted to turn from 44th Street onto the Highway, not realizing Brooks was traveling twice the posted speed limit. Kelley’s mini van was struck broadside by Brooks’ car.
