City Council members seek state of emergency declaration for Shreveport police station

SHREVEPORT, La. — Three Shreveport City Council members want a state of emergency declared because of deteriorating conditions at the Shreveport police station. Council members Grayson Boucher, Tabatha Taylor and James Green said in a letter today to Mayor Tom Arceneaux they will place legislation on the Sept. 24 agenda encouraging him and Police Chief Wayne Smith to declare the emergency and immediately remove officers and administrative staff to a safer working environment.
