Colorado QB Shedeur Sanders Under Fire After Earning National Honor

Shedeur Sanders helped lead Colorado to a convincing 28-9 victory over rival Colorado State on Saturday, earning him a spot on the Davey O’Brien Award’s Great 8 for Week 3.

The list recognizes great quarterback play in college football. This week, the committee doubled down on its selections, highlighting 16 quarterbacks , including Sanders.

Sanders was on the Davey O’Brien National Quarterback Award preseason watchlist and can add another feather to his cap with the weekly honor. Sanders passed for 310 yards and four touchdowns against the Rams.

His play on the field was certainly worthy of the honor but some took exception with the Colorado star’s postgame antics. He refused to shake the hand of Colorado State quarterback Brayden Fowler-Nicolosi after the game.

“You were talking s–t on Instagram,” Sanders said in a video of the exchange. “Talking on Instagram. We handled our business. You can’t f–k with me.”

That didn’t sit well with some fans, who commented under the post of Sanders’ latest honor.
