VIRGINIA BEACH, VA. (WAVY) – Part of Indian River Road was closed in both directions Monday afternoon as the result of a serious crash.
Virginia Beach Police tweeted at 1:44 p.m. that the road was closed between Indian Plantation Drive and Riddick Lane.
Police later confirmed the single-vehicle crash happened at 12:42 p.m., in the 2700 block of Indian River Road. Three people in the vehicle were taken to the hospital with serious injuries, police said.
Please avoid the area while police work to clear the scene. As of 4 p.m., the section of road was still closed.
There is no information yet what caused the crash.
