McConnell Air Force Base air show refund update

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — People who bought premium seating for the second day of the McConnell Air Force Base air show are getting their money back.

Frontiers in Flight was a success on Aug. 24. But before it could even get off the ground on Day 2, Aug. 25, a strong storm hit the area. Ten people suffered minor injuries . Six visiting planes were damaged, and debris was scattered down the flight line.

McConnell had to cancel the second day of the popular air show. The air show was free, but some people purchased tickets for premium and beer garden seating.

On Monday, McConnell announced that its third-party vendor has refunded those ticket buyers through eTix.

“Thank you again for your patience as we worked through contractual obligations with our vendor in the aftermath of the storm event on 25 Aug,” McConnell said on Facebook . “We hope we will see you at our next air show!”
