Albany Police make arrest in 27-year-old homicide case

ALBANY, N.Y. ( NEWS10 ) — The Albany Police Department announced that it has arrested an Altamont woman in connection with a 27-year-old cold case homicide involving a baby. Keri Mazzuca, 52, was arrested on Saturday at about 8 a.m.

On September 7, 1997, at about 7:15 a.m., police responded to the area near the Moses Statue in Washington Park for reports of a dead baby. Upon arrival, officers say they found a dead baby boy who had been discarded.

Charges

  • Second-degree murder
  • Tampering with physical evidence
  • Concealment of a human corpse

Mazzuca was arraigned in Albany County Court on Monday and placed in the Albany County Jail. Little is known about what led to the arrest at this time, stick with NEWS10 as we follow this story.
