Miley Cyrus Faces Lawsuit Over ‘Flowers’

Additional Coverage:

A new lawsuit alleges that Miley Cyrus’s hit song "Flowers" is a copy of Bruno Mars’s "When I Was Your Man."

Tempo Music, the company behind the lawsuit, claims that the melody, harmony, and chorus of "Flowers" are similar to the verse of "When I Was Your Man." The lawsuit also alleges that "Flowers" copies the chord progressions and mirrors some of the lyrics of Mars’s song.

Tempo Music says that Miley, her label, and her producers had access to "When I Was Your Man" before creating "Flowers." The company is seeking money from Miley and wants her to stop distributing or performing "Flowers."

Bruno Mars is not a plaintiff in the lawsuit. Miley Cyrus has not yet commented on the allegations.
