Long Beach Launches 24/7 Used Mattress Recycling Pilot to Combat Illegal Dumping

The City of Long Beach has implemented a pilot program aimed at tackling the prevalent issue of used mattress disposal. According to a press release from the city, a 24/7 drop-off site, located at 970 W. Chester Pl., has been designated for residents to bring their used mattresses for recycling. Until October 29, 2024, this initiative will give Long Beach inhabitants the convenience of disposing of their mattresses at any time, thereby supporting sustainability, and reducing the illegal dumping that burdens the landscape and municipal resources.
