Fire Damages Cherokee County Used Car Business

Fire investigators are working to determine the cause of a fire that broke out at a used car business on Bells Ferry Road in Cherokee County.

According to Cherokee County Fire and Emergency Services, Cherokee County and Woodstock firefighters were dispatched just before 8 p.m. Sept. 16 to a commercial structure fire at 5729 Bells Ferry Road.

There, firefighters found heavy smoke and flames coming from the rear of the structure, the sales office of Green Auto Brokers Inc. in southwest Cherokee.

Fire crews quickly conducted a thorough search of the premises for any victims, and worked to extinguish the fire and salvage property, the fire department reported.

No injuries were reported from the fire.

CCFES Capt. Michael Sims said the fire caused structural and cosmetic damage to the sales office and the covered outside garage area, and three vehicles were damaged by the fire.

CCFES fire investigators are working to determine the cause and origin of the fire.
