When to see the partial lunar eclipse, supermoon in Lubbock Tuesday

LUBBOCK, Texas — Lubbock residents will get a chance to gaze at the sky Tuesday evening for a stellar view of the partial lunar eclipse.

According to the TimeandDate.com website, the event in Lubbock will begin at 7:48 p.m. and will be at its peak at 9:44 p.m. The eclipse is set to end at 11:47 p.m., said the website.

Tuesday night will be a celestial surprise for stargazers with a full moon shining down on the South Plains. The event lands on a Harvest moon in September which also happens to be a supermoon, according to The Old Farmer’s Almanac website.

According to the website, the full harvest moon on Tuesday will be at its peak illumination at 9:34 p.m., minutes before stargazers can see the partial lunar eclipse also at its peak.
