22News has contacted Cumberland Farms for a full list of locations where card skimmers have been discovered in September. EGA Media Relations, the media contact for Cumberland Farms, said that between September 4th and September 13th of this year, card skimmers were found at these locations:

What is a credit card skimmer?

Card skimmers are illegal devices installed at gas pumps, ATMs, and other locations that can steal credit and debit card information. When swiped, the skimmer scans your card information and uses Bluetooth to send card information to the thief’s computer or phone.

22News asked Cumberland Farms if work is being done to prevent card skimming devices from being installed, “EG America is aware of the skimming devices recently found in some of our Cumberland Farms stores and is working closely with local law enforcement to investigate this further. If you made a purchase at our Southampton, Williamsburg, Amherst or Great Barrington stores between the dates of 9/4/24 and 9/13/24, we encourage you to monitor your bank accounts for any suspicious activity. The safety of our guests is our top priority, and we will remain vigilant to ensure our stores are a secure place for all.”
