‘I couldn’t have predicted anything better’: Silver Scream at DCU is a howling success

WORCESTER — The horror con came back to Worcester and it’s return was a bloody success.

“Silver Scream Con III” at the DCU Center this past weekend had crowds estimated at 2,000 on Friday and more than 5,000 on Saturday, which easily outnumbered the three-day total of 5,000 it reached last year when it was held in Danvers, and that’s not factoring Sunday’s crowd.

Not only that, but the consensus from patrons, celebrity guests and vendors is that event was a big hit.“Welcome to Horrorwood” star Nadia Teichman is happy for the success of the Silver Scream Con.

“It’s absolutely incredible and it’s so cool to see families come together, see the awesome costumes with the little kids,” Teichman said. “The fans are amazing. They’re just so caring, loving. Some of them cried at my table and I’m about to cry with them.“

Spencer Charnas, the singer of Ice Nine Kills and creator of Silver Scream Con, is overwhelmed by the turnout.

“It’s unbelievable. I couldn’t have predicted anything better,” Charnas said. “Tons of people, everyone is enjoying themselves, great celebrities, it’s like the spirit of Rock and Shock has flown through Worcester again with Silver Scream.”
