Over 30 grams of cocaine, gun found in stolen car; 3 arrested: Fremont PD

( KRON ) – Stolen property, a firearm and more than 30 grams of cocaine were found in a stolen car, according to the Fremont Police Department.

At 5 a.m. on Aug. 31, an automatic license plate reader alerted police of a stolen vehicle near Fremont and Washington boulevards.

The driver accelerated speed after police attempted to make a traffic stop. Police said they used an intervention technique that halted the car near Thornton Avenue and Blacow Road. All of the three occupants surrendered, according to police.

The vehicle search yielded an unregistered .40 caliber handgun with a threaded barrel, ammunition and 32 grams of cocaine. Authorities said the officers also located various stolen items including mail, credit cards and passports.

The trio was identified as Milpitas resident Amanda Stacy, Fairfield resident Christian Widjaja and Antioch resident James Spearman.

Stacy, 36, was arrested for possession of a stolen vehicle, evading a peace officer with disregard for safety and identity theft.
