Over 400 dogs and cats rescued during KGET’s and Bakersfield Animal Care Center’s Clear the Shelters event

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — Over 150 dogs and cats were adopted from the Bakersfield Animal Care Center during KGET’s month-long “Clear the Shelters” campaign.

KGET teamed up with the BACC to encourage prospective pet owners to adopt a cat or dog. The campaign proved to be a success with an additional 250 animals going to rescue facilities, according to shelter Director Mathew Buck.

Three celestial events will light up the night sky Tuesday

In total, more than 400 pets were saved. The campaign ended September 10.

The Bakersfield Animal Care Center is open Tuesday through Saturday, between 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
