Mickles was charged with attempted assault in the first degree, theft of services, menacing in the second degree, and criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree, according to the NYPD. A spokesperson for the Brooklyn District Attorney’s Office said there is no timeline for Mickles’ arraignment because he remains hospitalized.

According to police, Mickles allegedly dodged paying the $2.90 fare to board the subway on Sunday.

Two officers followed him and repeatedly asked Mickles to stop, police said. He allegedly told the officers, “I am going to kill you if you don’t stop following me.”
