Construction on new Tower District park to begin in Fresno

FRESNO, Calif. ( KSEE/KGPE ) – Construction work on a new park in the Tower District area of Fresno is about to start.

On Wednesday, the City of Fresno is set to break ground on the Broadway Parque. The new park will be built on the corner of N. Broadway Street and E. Elizabeth Street. Plans for a park in that area go back to 2021; at the time, Fresno City Councilmember Miguel Arias said it would be fully funded by the passage of Measure P .

First green space park coming to Tower District

City officials say the park will feature play structures for children, two shade structures, fencing around the perimeter, lighting, water-wise irrigation, and paved pathways. It will also have picnic tables and benches.

Ground is scheduled to be broken on Broadway Parque on the afternoon of Wednesday, Sept. 18, officially marking the start of construction at the site.
