TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — Polk County deputies are used to being the first ones on the scene to help, but on Saturday, the scene came to them.

Parents Micah and Diam were on their way to the hospital to deliver their child shortly after 7 a.m. when the baby decided to enter the world.

The sheriff’s office said the “baby had waited nine months for this moment and didn’t want to wait any longer,” so the soon-to-be parents quickly pulled into the Polk County Sheriff’s Southwest District Office , where their miracle was born.

When Sergeant Lynch saw Micah and Diam’s vehicle outside, he approached the car and that’s when Diam turned toward him holding their brand new “itty-bitty baby girl.”

Lynch called Polk County Fire Rescue for assistance while he and K9 Deputy Wade helped the mother and gave her and the baby some handmade quilts donated by residents.

When fire rescue arrived, they took the mom and baby to the hospital, but the surprises didn’t end there.
