Cameron Rising injury update: Utah QB expected to play in Week 4 game vs Oklahoma State

Utah quarterback Cameron Rising is expected to play Saturday against Oklahoma State in a top-25 showdown at 3 p.m. in Stillwater .

Rising suffered a finger injury on his throwing hand in a Week 2 win over Baylor, and he missed the team’s Week 3 win over Utah State as a result. But Utah head coach Kyle Whittingham said this past weekend that “the plan” is for Rising to return against OSU, and that doesn’t appear to have changed.

“That’s all you ever dreamed of as a kid is just playing in big-time football games,” Rising told Utah media on Monday. “And this is a great Oklahoma State team, so (I’m) just chomping at the bit to get out there and get this thing going finally.”

Rising’s return will be massive for Utah (3-0), which was picked to finish first in the Big 12 preseason poll. He’s a two-time All-Pac-12 honoree who has completed 18 of his 29 passes (62.1%) for 346 yards, seven touchdowns and no interceptions in two appearances this season.
