SAVANNAH, Ga. – The railroad crossing on President Street sees, on average, over 40,000 individual vehicles daily, but 10-minute stoppages on the road causes major delays for commuters and emergency vehicles, according toa study for Chatham County. Tuesday night began the open discussion between county planners and the public on the future of the railroad crossing.
