NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) – South Carolina’s first-ever mass transit system has reached a significant milestone in its project development. The Lowcountry Rapid Transit project is a 21.3-mile bus rapid transit system that aims to connect the Lowcountry community in several different ways. This major project has been in the works since 2016, but there is light at the end of the tunnel, as they are getting closer to beginning construction.
