Time ran out for veteran Kenneth Street who died in prison after denied medical parole: op-ed

The last words Kenneth Street spoke to Redemption Earned Registered Nurse, Felicia Hall-Grace, were: “Miss Felicia, please get me out of here before I die.” One week later, in early June, his heart stopped, and he breathed his last breath. Time ran out. …..Time ran out before the Redemption Earned staff was able to extricate Mr. Street from the unsafe conditions of the Alabama Department of Corrections. He was honorably discharged from the US Army where he served as a HAWK missile team crewmember and was awarded the Army Achievement Medal for his outstanding service. After serving his country for more than 8 years, Mr. Street was violently assaulted and robbed in Virginia. The unprovoked attack led to a traumatic brain injury that left him in a coma for three months and ultimately in a wheelchair.
