FL Billionaire Family Proposes Huge Mixed-Use Project With $5 Million Toward Affordable Housing

Some Floridians are aware that billionaires who call the Sunshine State home do work that leaves their mark on the state. I’ve written about Ken Griffin donating around $300 million to Florida causes since moving in 2022. I’ve also reported on billionaire Jorge Pérez donating a $10 million penthouse to an arts nonprofit. And now, the billionaire Ansin family has reportedly proposed a huge mixed-use development in Miramar. And millions will go toward affordable housing.

About The Ansin Family: According to The Real Deal, the Ansin family is one of the wealthiest in South Florida. The family also owns WSVN, a FOX affiliate in Miami. The Miami Herald estimates Edmund Ansin’s net worth as $1.5 billion.

The Proposed Massive Mixed-Use Development: The Ansin family’s company, Sunbeam Properties, has proposed a 126-acre mixed-use development called Park Miramar at the northeast corner of Miramar Parkway and Red Road. The project would reportedly include 2,874 apartments, a 185-key hotel, plus retail, restaurants, and 7,859 parking spaces.
