North Georgia State Fair Returns to Jim Miller Park Thursday

MARIETTA — The 92nd annual North Georgia State Fair will return to Jim R. Miller Park Thursday.

The fair, presented by Superior Plumbing, will run from Thursday through Sunday, Sept. 29 at the park, located off Callaway Road in Marietta.

On opening day, weather is expected to be sunny, with light north winds and temperatures in the upper 80s. Gates will open 4 p.m. Thursday and close at 11 p.m.

There will be carnival games and rides on the Great James H. Drew Exposition Midway — one of the largest carnival midways in the U.S.

Rides include the Wildcat Roller Coaster, the Seattle Wheel, the Georgia Mountain Lift and the Mega Slide.

The fair added five new rides this year, including adult thrill rides, Cyclops 2.0 and Autobahn, as well as three smaller family rides, said Fair Manager Tod Miller.

“We want to provide people a place to get together in a safe place and to have a good time,” Miller said.

Another new addition is a food vendor map of the 41 different food merchants, their locations and what they sell.
