Tempe Celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month with Free Exhibits and Cultural Events

TEMPE – Hispanic Heritage Month is in full swing, and the City of Tempe is hosting a series of free events celebrating Hispanic culture and history.

From vibrant performances to exhibitions highlighting the legacy of Cesar Chavez, there’s something for everyone, according to the City of Tempe.

Event Highlights:

Extending a Hand: Cesar Chavez, an Arizona Connection

On display now through October 6, 2024.

Location: Tempe History Museum, 809 E. Southern Avenue in Tempe.

This featured exhibit explores the connection between Cesar Chavez, Tempe, and Arizona. It showcases art and stories from individuals who worked with or were inspired by Chavez, highlighting his role as a civil rights and farm labor leader.

The exhibit is open Tuesday through Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., with free admission.

Performances at the Museum: Victor Caldee and His Cuban Connection

Kick off the museum’s new performance season with Cuban artist Victor Caldee and his Cuban Connection. Enjoy an evening of Cuban music, free to the public.
