Is KPot still coming to Fayetteville’s Cross Creek Mall? Here’s what we know.

If all goes well, the eagerly-awaited KPot Korean BBQ & Hot Pot will open next month at the Cross Creek Mall, franchise owner Kevin Tang said Friday.

Tang, a franchise partner at locations in Virginia and New Jersey, said he is living in Fayetteville while construction here is underway.

Work on the local restaurant began about a year ago , he said, and this month health and building inspections are scheduled to take place.

“Once those are cleared, if everything goes well, we’ll open in October,” Tang said optimistically. He noted that having opened at least two other stores, some work may need to be done once the results of the inspections are revealed, which could delay the opening a bit.

Originally from Massachusetts, Tang took over the local restaurant franchise about four months ago. He said he will begin “mass hiring for all positions” soon.

But rest assured, Tang said, “We are opening.”

The KPot all-you-can-eat experience is a fusion of the Chinese hot pot cooking method with Korean barbecue. It’s a communal dining experience.
