Staten Island driver hits, critically injures boy on bicycle

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – A driver struck and critically injured a 10-year-old boy riding his bike on Staten Island on Tuesday afternoon, police said.

The boy was riding the bike northbound on Nicholas Street in New Brighton at 3:10 p.m. when he was hit by a 28-year-old man driving a Honda Accord, who was headed westbound on Richmond Terrace.

The child was transported by EMS to Richmond University Medical Center, where he was in critical condition.

The driver of the Honda remained at the scene.

No arrests have been reported as the investigation continues.
