Madison garage fire that caused $15K in damage under investigation

MADISON, Wis. — An investigation is underway after a fire at a Madison garage caused an estimated $15,000 in damage.

Madison Fire Department crews were called to a home in the 1900 block of Browning Road at around 9:45 p.m. Firefighters arrived to find heavy gray smoke coming from an attacked garage.

The fire was knocked down within five minutes of crews arriving. Madison Gas and Electric was called in to assist.

The owner told firefighters that they discovered the fire after smelling smoke and hearing smoke alarms. They were able to escae with their pets before crews arrived.

No injuries were reported.
