WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) – A Wilmington woman is accused of abusing a child while working at a local daycare, according to the Wilmington Police Department. Per the WPD, on Aug. 9, 22-year-old Nariyah Ashanti Hooper allegedly injured a 6-year-old child at the Childcare Center at 4804 New Centre Drive. Hooper was providing care and supervising the child at the time, and the incident was intentional.
