Metro train derails in East L.A., one hurt

One person was injured after a Metro E Line train and a car crashed in East Los Angeles.

According to the Los Angeles County Fire Department, the derailment was reported near Third St. and Rowan Ave. around 9:20 a.m..

One person was taken to the hospital and another was treated at the scene for a possible injury, City News Service reported.

In a post on X , Metro Los Angeles announced that there was no train service between Maravilla and Indiana Station due to a “train-auto incident.”  Buses have been requested.

Third street was closed in the area as of 10:45 a.m.
