Officials identify 3 accused in alleged plot to kill Williamson County judge, couple

GEORGETOWN — Authorities on Wednesday identified three people accused of plotting to kill a Williamson County judge and attempting to kill two people involved in a custody case the judge was overseeing.

Clinton Harmon, 38, was arrested in New Orleans on Sept. 8 as he was about to board a flight and charged with the attempted murder of his ex-wife and her boyfriend in March, Williamson County Sheriff Mike Gleason said at a news conference. Harmon faces one charge of attempted capital murder and is being held on $2 million bail in New Orleans awaiting extradition.

Matthew Harmon, 50, and Teresa Harmon, 57, Clinton’s stepfather and mother, were arrested Sept. 12 in Bastrop County in connection with the plot and charged with one count of retaliation. Their bail has been set at $1 million each. All three could face more charges, Gleason said.

Emergency responders received a call at 2:30 a.m. on March 8 from a teenager who said his mother and her boyfriend had been shot by an unknown intruder who had forcibly entered their Liberty Hill home while they were asleep, Gleason said. The woman was shot 11 times, sustaining wounds to her chest, abdomen, arms, legs, shoulder and neck. Her boyfriend was shot twice in the neck and an arm. Both survived the attack, officials said.
