Man accused of stabbing New York bouncer to death arrested in Northeast Ohio

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WJW) — A wanted fugitive accused of fatally stabbing a New York bouncer was arrested in Youngstown on Wednesday.

The stabbing happened inside the Garden Bar and Grill on Graham Avenue in Brooklyn on Feb. 10.

According to U.S. Marshals, the bouncer was trying to help a female coworker, who was caught in the middle of a fight with patrons at the bar.

As sister station PIX11 previously reported , the bouncer, identified as 61-year-old Laurence Hopkins, urged for the group of men to, “relax, chill out,” when he was stabbed in the neck.

Hopkins died from his injuries.

The suspect was identified as Jose Feliciano and a warrant was issued for his arrest in June. Feliciano was wanted for murder by the New York Police Department.

Through the investigation, law enforcement determined that Feliciano had left the state of New York soon after the murder.

According to U.S. Marshals, investigators tracked the suspect down to a home in the 1900 block of Wolosyn Circle in Youngstown.
