Pinellas Rep. Luna says office received ‘very serious shooting threat’

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — The office of U.S. Rep. Anna Paulina Luna, a Republican who represents part of Pinellas County, was the apparent target of a shooting threat.

“My office has received a very serious shooting threat,” Luna wrote in a post on X Wednesday morning.

GOP’s Luna says her opinion on Florida abortion measure ‘doesn’t really matter’

Luna blamed the incident on a “division and hate campaign against Republicans,” but there is no official word from law enforcement on the nature of the threat, a suspect or their motive.

“I will not be threatened, intimidated, or bow down to those using violence as a means to push their agenda. We will win,” Luna said.

In a statement to WFLA, Luna said she has received an increasing number of threats in recent weeks and law enforcement is “actively investigating the matter.”

Luna is currently running for reelection against Democratic challenger Whitney Fox . Fox provided the following statement to WFLA:

“Violence has no place in politics, period. Instead of making false accusations against my campaign, Luna should stand on her record, which includes supporting a national no-exceptions ban on abortion and ignoring the affordability crisis. The people of Pinellas deserve a leader who will put aside partisan politics and will put them first.”
