Springfield to start Rajcic in NDS game two

SPRINGFIELD, Mo–The Springfield Cardinals are hoping that seven is indeed a lucky number.

The Cardinals are in the Texas League playoffs for a seventh time.

And they’re hoping to bring home their second league championship.

Springfield won it all back in 2012.

But first things first, and that’s wrapping up the North Division Championship.

And Springfield will have a chance to do just that Thursday night at Hammons Field.

The team worked out Wednesday in the comfy air conditioned Bill Rowe indoor facility.

Jose Leger will hand the ball to starting pitcher Max Rajcic for game two.

And the ten game winner is fired up at the opportunity.

“I’m super excited. Last night’s game was electric. It was a great game for both teams. I’m really excited to get the ball. It just shows you the team trusts me to throw in a really important game. And I’m really excited. We kind of want to outdo ourselves. If Komar throws a really good start then I want to do better and compete with him. There’s competitiveness. And we’re just building off each other to have a better rotation. Our bullpen has been awesome. The bullpen has been lights out all year,” said Rajcic.
