Grovetown Middle student, 14, charged after allegedly making threats

A 14-year-old Grovetown Middle School student was arrested Wednesday and charged with felony terroristic threats and acts.

The 14-year-old boy made “comments of a threatening nature” against the school and three other students, according to a news release from the Columbia County School District.

The student was booked into the Columbia County Detention Center just after 10 a.m. Wednesday, according to booking records from the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office.

Other incidents Wednesday: Multiple Evans High students kicked out of school; Greenbrier High student arrested

The school said administrators were made aware of the report and immediately contacted the Columbia County School District Police to investigate, according to the release. It was not clear what the alleged threat involved.

Earlier in the day, multiple Evans High School students were kicked out of school and a Greenbrier High School student was arrested after separate threats were made against the schools, The Chronicle reported.
