No. 5 Nebraska volleyball takes down No. 2 Stanford

The fifth-ranked Nebraska volleyball team swept the No. 2 Stanford Cardinal in front of their home crowd at Bob Devaney Sports Center on Wednesday night.

The Huskers (9-1) claimed their first win over the Cardinal (7-1) for the first time out of four tries since Nebraska started playing matches at the building in 2013.

Nebraska’s advantage in blocks (9-4) and service aces (5-2) helped, as they also committed only four service errors in comparison to the Cardinal’s 10.

Stanford also struggled, registering a .100 hitting percentage to Big Red’s .263 for the match. It’s the lowest hitting percentage of the year for Stanford as they entered the matchup with the fourth-best hitting percentage in the NCAA.

Andi Jackson led the way for the Huskers, notching nine kills on a .600 hitting percentage for the night. She also had five of the nine blocks for Nebraska while Rebekah Allick had four.

Others to aid Nebraska to victory included Lindsay Krause (nine kills), Merritt Beason (eight) and Harper Murray (six).
