Second-Round Pick Trending Toward ‘Top-10 Quarterback Conversation,’ Says Report

Several quarterbacks have continued to impress ahead of Week 3 of the new season, including Baker Mayfield of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Geno Smith of the Seattle Seahawks.

One guy who’s also made a strong start is Derek Carr of the New Orleans Saints. In Week 1, he led the Saints to an easy 47-10 victory over the Carolina Panthers. He threw for 200 yards and three touchdowns. In Week 2, Carr threw for 243 yards and two touchdowns to destroy the Dallas Cowboys, 44-19.

He has picked up where he left off last season, where he had six games with over 300 passing yards. The Saints, however, missed the playoffs.

In a report from ESPN’s Dan Graziano and Jeremy Fowler , they singled out the 33-year-old Carr as one of the “most surprising quarterbacks” after Week 2. Graziano pointed out that the Saints signal-caller is currently leading all quarterbacks with a 96.2 rating.

“I thought this offense would struggle behind a suspect offensive line, but it’s absolutely humming,” Fowler said. “The Saints have scored 91 points in two games and Carr is dancing in the end zone.”
