2-year-old sitting in urine at local day care allegedly told to clean it up himself

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) – Allegations against a Wichita day care include a child sitting in urine and being told to clean it up himself.

KSN’s Derek Lytle talked to a concerned parent who posted the allegation on social media . The post led to others contacting him with their own allegations against the day care. The owner of Honey Tree and Branches Academy denies all claims.

Jeff McAnarney said he received a disturbing message from the owner of Honey Tree and Branches Academy, an independent, private preparatory school and day care for children through eighth grade.

“Leaving him unsupervised in the bathroom, saying that he was lying in a pool of his own urine and that they were going to make him clean it up,” said McAnarney.

He said his wife filed complaints with the Department of Children and Families , detailing what happened to their son, Booker.

McAnarney took to social media to post about the incident when he received dozens of messages from parents and past employees about the issues they claim they’ve had with the day care.
