Safe haven for homeless young women coming to Columbia

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WACH)- – Between Millwood Avenue and Short Street, the Mental Illness Recovery Center Inc., Mirci, is creating their second Transitional Housing Facility, but this time for young women between the ages of 17-22. “It’s a place for protection and for healing, and for helping them get some hope and self-sufficiency and stability,” said President and CEO of United Way of the Midlands, Sara Fawcett.
