Albertsons donates more than $38K to Roadrunner Food Bank

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Roadrunner Food Bank received a $38,000 donation on Thursday thanks to Albertsons. The donation caps the grocery chain’s latest Donate at the Register campaign where customers were able to add any dollar amount to their grocery bill when they check out.

Roadrunner Food Bank said it helps 70,000 people a week and the money will go a long way to support their mission, especially heading into the holiday season. “So it’s really important for us to kind of restock our inventory and prepare for what we’re expecting to be an elevated demand across New Mexico,” said Will Tapia, Roadrunner Food Bank.

The Food Depot in Santa Fe also received around $20,000 through the fundraiser.
