Pasco County fire chief abruptly resigns

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — Pasco County Fire Chief Anthony Perez resigned on Thursday, according to an agency spokesperson.

The spokesperson confirmed Perez’s resignation but didn’t provide details.

Perez was confirmed as the fire chief in July 2023. Perez has more than 20 years of experience. He had multiple roles within Pasco County Fire Rescue and also worked with Tampa Fire Rescue.

Assistant Chief Ryan Guynn will be the interim fire chief, the spokesperson said.
