STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. – Is the next American pop icon currently walking through the halls of a Staten Island high school?. That’s what they tried to find out Thursday, as Staten Island Technical High School hosted the District 31 “American Idol” Live Audition, and 51 students from 10 Staten Island schools performed for industry veterans with hopes of a possible fast-track onto the hit TV show.
