Volunteers needed for Rockford’s 70-mile 2025 Ironman Race

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — Participants will swim in the Rock River, bike up to Beloit, and run downtown on a course just over 70 miles in the Rockford Ironman Race in June 2025.

On Wednesday, a kickoff party was held at The Top rooftop bar at the Embassy Suites Hotel, at 416 S Main Street.

Organizers said anyone is welcome to take part, even if they don’t feel like an athlete.

“We look for any opportunity to work with organizations like Ironman to bolster that community involvement. It’s about bringing people up and doing the events. Not necessarily competing, but completing, and having fun doing it,” said Tim Goodwin, vice president of Rock River Multisport.

Volunteers are needed for race day, and registration can be found here .
