J&J Snack Foods plant in Holly Ridge lays off employees due to fire damage

HOLLY RIDGE, N.C. (WNCT) — J&J Snack Foods is laying off nearly 30 positions at the Holly Ridge plant.

They said this is due to the fire that broke out there last month. The damage is still bad both inside and outside of the plant. Officials with the North Carolina Department of Commerce said it’s unclear the exact number of people that are getting laid off.

The company only listed 33 different positions in their notice to the department. They also said the layoff will be effective Nov. 9.

WNCT reached out to J&J Snack Foods and is waiting for a response.
